About picker.ink
picker.ink is a daily color-matching game. Five target colors a day, three dials, one motion per dial. It is free, it runs in your browser, and a round takes about two minutes.
Why it exists
Judging color is a real skill, and a trainable one. Most color tools do the judging for you: they name the swatch, snap to the palette, correct your eye. This one does the opposite. It hands you three dials and asks whether you can actually see the difference.
There are no accounts, no feed, and no notifications. One puzzle a day, and then it leaves you alone.
How the daily works
The five colors are generated from the date. Everyone playing the same day on the same difficulty gets the same set. New colors arrive at midnight, your local time. There is no color-of-the-day committee, just arithmetic.
How it is built
picker.ink has no build step and no framework. It is one HTML page and one script, and everything is computed in your browser, including the scoring. Your results stay on your device. The score comes from a standard perceptual color-difference formula, so the number tracks what eyes see, not what sliders read.
Who makes it
picker.ink is made by one independent developer. There is no company, no team page, and no newsletter. If you want to say something, write to [email protected] or use the contact page.
Ads
The game is free. It shows ads to cover its costs. What that involves, and everything the site does and does not keep, is spelled out on the privacy page.
